Problem when starting

When I start my 01 Supercrew my speeddo and tack will peg all the way to the right for a sec then will go all the way back to the left. Then the tack will move up to where it should be when running. Everything eles work fine. It starts fine, just the gages are acting up.
What do you think????

Your battery is getting weak, or your battery cables, or connections have high resistance. When voltage drops below a certain level it initiates a guage sweep. I would have it checked out before you are stranded in a parking lot somewhere.

Well guys I replaced the battery with one from AutoZone back in Sept. and the problem stayed so today I replaced it again and it still does the same thing. What else can I do?

After you replaced the battery it never stopped doing it since september? Or it just started doing it again? If your charging system fails to keep the battery charged up then the problem will persist. And even new batteries can fail in a short time. A more complete story would help.

well for starters i would stop shot-gunning batteries. If it really isnt charging at all it will only last you a week, 2 weeks tops. Your charging system could be charging at 66% or worse 33%.... you could just have a bad gauge cluster... not sure how reliable they are on fords, but at GM we have been replacing them left and right.

make sure your battery cables are tight and not corroded.
