4x4 Front End Pop
1992 F-150 4x4 (Dana 44 TIB front differential, I believe)
-Manual hubs & electronic transfer case.
With the hubs unlocked, out of 4-wheel drive, and on dry pavement, I hear a "pop" with the wheels turned all the way in either direction.
This is the first 4x4 that I've owned in awhile, and I'm not sure if this is normal.
I jacked it up yesterday here at the shop and jerked the wheels. I don't seem to have any loose ball joints or steering components.
Thanks for any insight...
(Maybe I'll eventually get everything cleared up with this truck! lol)

I'd look at the front axle u-joints. They still have to turn even if its in 2wd.

By turn I dont mean rotate, but they turn on their vertical axis. If one is binding it could make a popping sound.

I would say ball joints are binding up.

Case Closed: I found the problem.
I forgot to mention that I have 32" Maxxis Buckshots on the truck.
It hit me like a load of bricks today-- the tires are rubbing the torsion bars on hard steers. That ain't no biggie.
Thanks for all of the advice and thoughts that ya'll have given this retarded 'ol Rebel.
