Just last month I sold my 2001 Eddie Bauer Exp for a 2000 PSD X Ltd. I love the X but miss a few of the luxuries such as the thermostat and auto on lights.

Hi everyone,
I have a 2000 Ex, and have a question.....
I have the stock ***** for the climate control and I was wondering if I could swap it for the electronic buttons and digital display....
Also I was wondering if I could install some relay or new switch for the Automatic Headlights. I would like to ad that feature.

sorry to give you such a quick answer..... NO. the old one works with vacuum lines and cable. the new one has relays, wiring and alot of other stuff, i'm not totally sure. but again, NO..sorry.....

Racer's right...the short answer is no.
There are also sensors and the like which are not present in your vehicle, for example, there is a sensor that needs to check the temp of the water under the hood to delay the auto heat to come on until it is warm enough.

Thank you guys! I'm glad that I didn't buy the control unit! Do either of you know if I would be able to install something to turn the headlights on automatically like in the '01 Limited X???? I know it sounds stupid but I'm used to it from my Expedition.... Thanks

Yeah, my I miss the luxuries on my Expedition, but I do love my Excursion... I'm just trying to get the auto light feature...
