I sure hope someone can help me as I have been battling with my trucks tail light wires for about 3 months without any luck. I have working 4-ways, signals, brake lights and back-up lights but I can't get my tail lights to work. I replaced both bulbs, checked my fuse and tried to find a broken wire with no luck at all. My truck is an '86 F-250 4x2 w/300 6cyl engine (not that that matters). I am hoping I can fix this problem myself but I am not to sure where to look or how to follow the wiring harness. Please, someone help me. STAY POSITIVE FORD-EVER! Jody Duplessis
Hello there, can anybody tell me where 2 look or what 2 look 4? I have brake lights, signal lights, 4 way flashers and back up lights but NO TAIL LIGHTS. I have checked fuses, wiring(as much as I could) and replaced bulbs. Still no luck.
Is this generally caused by a broken wire or even a loose wire? Where would a common place b? Truly would like any input! Thank you 4 your time. Jody Duplessis
No input without really knowing what vehicle, but when you're posting, dont use numbers for words, and it doesnt take that much more time to type be, as opposed to b. Thanks.
I looked in his profile, and he has an 86. If that is what you are working on, the first place I would look is the headlight switch. Make sure you have 12 volts on the tan/white wire. If you do not, then inspect it and the harness carefully. This wire has melted in two several times in some posts with the same symptoms.
Thank you so very much for your help, I will give this a try on the week end. I didn't even think of the head light switch. And I am sorry about the posts being in the wrong place and numbers for words. I couldn't for the life of me figure out where to enter my question so I figured if I let someone know what was going on I would be directed to the right place. Thank you for your patience. Yes, my truck is an '86. Take care and thank you again for all your help. Jody Duplessis
