The heated seat module is located under the seat.

Apparently I * did * fix it! The day I did the work I turned the seat on and waited a minute or two. I did not feel heat so assumed it wasn't repaired. It has been real cold lately so for the heck of it, I turned the heat on and it worked! It works so well now after a few minutes I have to turn it off.
It takes about 5 minutes to warm up so I guess I did not wait long enough the first time I tested it.

Sure...get the aftermarket kit and install it. Make sure you run a good gauge wire to the heaters to make sure they can handle the amps that the seats draw, but if properly wired in, it's a pretty straightforward install.

i bought one of these to replace my factory heated seat that went bad. everything is included (even the hog ring pliers, but they are worthless, i already had a good set).

you would need to buy 2 of them.

no pics, but what you need to do is follow the factory wired switch back to the connector that goes to the pad for the lower seat cushion. There are 4 wires on that connector. I think (but you need to test this with a meter) it was an orange wire that had 12V when the switch is on (also note that you have to leave the old wire connected which would normally go back to the pad (there must be some loopback some where in the harness). i just checked each wire on that harness, and validated that it had 12V when the factory switch is on, and 0 when off. I then took all the wires that came with the kit, and tucked them up under the seats. I still haven't decided if I will ever really use the 3 position switch of the new unit (off, high, low), so for now, i just tucked that under the seat too, and leave it on HIGH.

I could take a picture, but all you would see is stuffed wires and dog hairs...

im showing you in the picture what wires to check for resistance, if theres continuity its good, if theres no infinaty resistance it has a break in the wire.you can probe this plug after you disconnect it from under the seat and push around on the common areas on the seat with without taking it apart and somtimes you can see where the break is if you push in a certain area and the meter starts reading. both wires are lt blue with pink tracer. the red wire in this pic is just a wire from my meter to fit into the plug since the poker on that probe is busted off.

Good luck its pretty easy though, i suggest checking the resistance before removing the cover just in case its the controller instead..

Ray
Thanks for the info
