Does anyone know a source for a replacement gas tank? Mine has a lot of rust in it from setting so long. I am guessing this is my main problem. been driving the truck to work about a week, and no problems. today it started losing power like running out of gas. checked fuel line at carb, and getting fuel. not what it should. pulled it home and let it set about 30 min, and it fired right up. tomorrow i will check filters and blow all lines out again, and will also check delivery on fuel pump. figured it best to go ahead and get another tank. will other years fit? it is a 71 f-250.
other years will fit but the mounting holes are a littl different. also where the fuel line conacts to the tank may be different as well. LMC truck is a good place to look for parts and so is dennis carpenter. you can also go on ebay to find tanks at very resonable prices.
i tried in the dennis carpenter book, and it is not listed also not in Lmc. they list aux. tanks, but not in cab tanks. fuel line hookup is not a problem cause i can always by a brass adapter to fit. thanks for the quick reply! anyone else!
my mistake. i did not look at Lmc, it was NPD. does LMC put out a catalog, and if so, how can i get one. Apologize for the mistake. both names sound almost the same. Thanks again!
go to LMC.com you can get one sent to you from their website or you can download one from the website. if you ask them to mail you one you usually get it with in a week or two.you can do the same thing with dennis carpenter. there is another site also that has a lot of older truck parts. the name for that one is autokrafters.com. hope this helps.
