Is your vehicle under warranty ? I am curious about the long term effects of "tuning" a vehicle beyond factory settings. Especially tranny shift points.
No warranty, but when you upload the new program, you store the factory program in the unit... If you are going in for service, just restore the stock software and all will look normal!
It does not have to be permanatly fixed to the dash. You dont HAVE to mount it at all. Using it as a gauge system just makes it that much better than anything else offered. Many of our customers use strong velcro to fix it to the dash...doesnt move at all. Ive never heard of anyone having a warranty issue with velcro on the dash.
If your asking if WE stock the item the answer is yes. I just shipped out 7 of them, and if you ordered from us this morning you should see it in the next 2 or 3 days.
I think that is what your asking...if not please explain.
Except for the Edge pod permanently affixed to your dash.
I do not think many of us Edge owners here have used epoxy to mount the Pods to our dash boards. As Patrick Said...many use Velcro...Like I am currently using.
The Edge is a good Product. I recently removed mine for updating and ended up leaving it in the house while I went to work (100 miles roundtrip). I guess I really havent noticed the difference it has made over the past few months until I actually made that trip while using the stock tune.
There are many other products out there such as the SCT and Hypertech and stuff. But personally even though they are more configurable then the edge...The Gauge Packages and monitoring functions of it alone make it worth the $320.
I mean you Try and go out and buy all of these Guages alone for under the price of the Edge...
PIDs
The Evolution allows the user to view up to 4 PIDs at one time. There are 19 different PIDs to choose from. Below is a list and description of each:
• RPM (revolutions per minute) – Engine speed.
• MPH (miles per hour) – Note: Dash display may be +/-3 MPH off from the digital display due to mechanical differences in the spring, etc. used to control the gauge.
• ECT (engine coolant temperature) – Degrees F.
• EOT (engine oil temperature) – Degrees F.
• TFT (transmission fluid temperature) – Degrees F.
• CHT (cylinder head temperature) – Degrees F.
• IAT (intake air temperature) – Degrees F.
• LPD (line pressure desired) – Fuel rail pressure desired by the PCM.
• FRP (fuel rail pressure) – Used to control the flow of fuel while an injector has been opened.
• OSS (output shaft speed) – Used with TSS to determine if transmission slip is occurring. If OSS = TSS, no slip is occurring.
• TSS (turbine shaft speed) – Used with OSS to determine if transmission slip is occurring. If TSS = OSS, no slip is occurring.
• MAF (mass air flow) – Used to determine air/fuel ratio.
• MAFV (mass air flow voltage) – A voltage representation of MAF (from sensor).
• VCT (variable cam timing) – Number of degrees the cam is advanced/retarded in regard to crankshaft angle.
• SPARK (spark advance) – Current timing advance/retard for the spark plugs.
• TQC (torque control) – Amount of torque reduction to control traction.
• LOAD (engine load %) – Percentage of total power available being used by the engine.
• APP (accelerator pedal position)
• BAT (battery voltage)
Plus the monitoring Alarms on top of that...Makes the tuning portion of it an added bonus IMO. You made a good Purchase. Enjoy it.
spiggy 769, What year and litter do you have and do you have a CAI? I'm looking to purchase both the Edge and CAI but want something compatable, works best and fairly priced to work with the Edge. Plus would you recommend installing the tunner first?

I have an 05' STX 4.6L WIthout a CAI. Figured Ford already has already engineered a CAI into the F150's so for what I use my truck for (Work) I am happy with it.
Now If you are going to get the EDGE...I would get that first. Over the CAI because you will see the most gains for that purchase. Now if you were going to go with a custom tuned SCT or something else along those lines that is tuned to your specific vehicle and modifications then I would definitely get all the mods installed on my truck first before I purchased a Tuner.
Regardless though EVen if I had all the mods I would still go with the EDGE just for as I stated above. The guages really come in handy and the alarms to go along with them is worth it.
