I have a 97 ranger with150k. iI turned on my lights today but no headlamps came on . I have all running lights , rear and brake lights plus turn signals.
I can pull my turn indicator arm and get the temp. brights, if i push it forward for regular brights i get no reaction.
I would appriciate any feed back, i assume it is the dash switch or a short .
I am away from home at my job with no tools. what a predicament.
Sounds like a short, so lift the hood and check and move the wires going into the back of the headlight lamp casing, and then work your way to the wiring leading to the actual light switch on the dash. Check the fuses also!
will do , Thank you , I am currently on a gas well in the middle of a ranch , but i will do what i can tonite. i work from 18:00 to 06:00. at least i'm not on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere.
Thank you again.
WOOPS, I misread your initial post Las Wagen, I see you said you have high beams in the "flash to pass" mode, but not in the "high beam" setting, so the fuses should be ok & I'd maybe suspect the multifunction switch!!!!
thanks to everyone who gave me feed back . it was indeed the dash switch that was bad.my daughter had knocked it loose one time a year or two ago ,and i guess all the dirt from these oil field roads got in there and finished the job.
weird that it was my headlights only though !
ah well it is fixed.
thanks again to all who helped.
