rear end ratio

I have a 1990 f-150 with 3.55 gears, I was wondering if it would make a big difference if I went to 3.73 gears,if not what do u suggest.

Big difference in what? What are you trying to improve on?

A change from 3.55 to 3.73 will increase your rpm by 5% at any given speed. Not much change. If you need more power for some purpose go to 4.10 or more. The change of ratio will cost you gas mileage.

In my 65 mustang I noticed the difference in my gear swap which was from a 3.5 to a 3.7. Along with the 5% increase in RPM there will be an increase in the torque and there are conversion charts out there that will break this down for ya as to what gears have what torque multiplier.
