loading capacity
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how much weight it can actually load in the bed. If anyone also knows how much it can tow let me know.
I'm trying to help my family out with some landscaping and need to load a bunch of pavers and sand.
Thanks
Then subtract the trucks empty weight from the GVW--and that will give you the payload for your truck. This payload will tell you the maximum weight that can be carried by your truck--including the driver and passenger weight.
My official 1992 Ford F150 brochure says that the Supercab Styleside 4x2 has a payload of 1925 pounds--with a GVW of 6250 pounds and 235/75 x15 tires. But it is important for you to actually measure the empty weight of your vehicle to be sure.Because the weight of the factory options--such as AC,power windows,ect--will increase the empty weight of the truck and will lessen the payload for a given GVW rating. And the payload for each vehicle will be slightly different because of the different combinations of factory and aftermarket options and their weight.
And you should also consider the maiximum weight rating of each axle. The standard 8.8 axle rating is 3800 pounds.
The trailer weight limit will be determined by what rear axle ratio the truck has and what transmission it has.Ford says that this rating ranges from 1900 pounds to 7000 pounds of trailer--depending on the transmission/axle ratio combination.
Tell us what axle code you have on the VIN sticker--and what transmission--and we can tell you what weight of trailer that you can pull--per Ford.
