I have a bad iginition switch and can't figure out how the heck to get it out. I've disconnected everything and in turning the switch the whole switch, bezel, and cylinder turns. From the looks of the new switch the bezel in front should hold stationary while i turn the switch under the dash and 'presto' it'd be out. Am i going about this the wrong way??? Is there a something i'm missing????
Mike.
As I remember you have to put the key in the ignition and turn it to the accessory position, then put a paper clip in the little hole above the key slot to hold the tumblers in the open position, then turn and the pull key to remove the lock set. Then you can remove the switch from the housing by pushing the bezel and turning it to the slot that holds it in place on the dash.
I hope you haven't ruined the switch bezel and housing.

Just wanted to let ya know i got to the switch yesterday and after doing as you said, it came right out. Wasn't quite so easy going back in but it's done. A nice weekend to have my truck back. Thanks Skip! :-)
