changing gears
I have a 97 f150 4x4. It has 3.08 gears in it= low power for towing etc. I would like to put in at least 3.55s. My question is is this a job I can do myself or should I go to a shop. Also what can I expect the cost to be? I am in Canada if this makes any difference. Thank you in advance for the help.

Depends on your mechanical ability and understanding. It is definitely doable. There are four major parameters. Pinion depth, pinion preload, ring gear preload and backlash. Make sure you understand them all and how you will achieve them and go for it.
