How do you read transmission codes? Sorry - I did search but I didn't really come up with much. Everyone seems to already know how to do it
I was driving down the highway with cruise set at 60 for 5 minutes or so -- I took an exit and when I pulled away from the light the tranny shifted into second late and hard and the O/D light was flashing. I hope maybe it's a fuse. Anyhow - my fluid smells fine but it is high so I guess I'm going to drain a quart or so out of it today. Still, I guess I need to know how to get codes out -- hopefully it's not overheating or something stupid. It seems like it only locks the converter when the engine starts pulling -- which I rarely let it do.<O
Over full will cause the fluid to foam and make the TFT sensor (Tranny temp) code out causing your simptoms.
Take it to a tranny shop, they will read it for free. They want your biz, or Pull #9 fuse under hood and replace, this Resets the PCM, justy like pulling battery cables.

I pulled the return line and ran it for a few seconds... Showing about right for cold with the fluid at maybe 90* (Would make a good bath water temp) Drove it home 2 miles it and was still sitting right there at the in the middle of the cold mark and the fluid didn't feel much warmer. I did drain probably a 2 quarts out of it to get it to that level so hopefully it was just that it was a bit over-full.
