Anyone familiar with these? Mine's factory installed with badging on the bed behind the back wheels (only one I've seen) has no power at the shift lever electronic control. Haven't opened the wire loom off the case to trace wires but assume power wire is likely in line fused? Be nice if it worked.
thx
steve
What year, what engine? There may be a power distribution box under the hood. There may be a relay in said box or a fuse. Either of which may have gone bad. To my knowledge all tranfer cases are dual range. You have 2wd high range, 4wd high range, and 4wd low range. If you want low range but only 2wd you disengage the front hubs.
'87/2whl dr/ 351 4bbl/3 spd A/T. Can't see a tag telling me which gear range the case is but expect all are wired & work the same? Know what I'd be looking for in a power distribution box? Nothings marked for the transfer case in the engine bay.
All fuses are good and I expect it's not a stand alone system but maybe I'm wrong.
Should probably open the wire harness to the unit and test for power (none at terminal ends @ case.) Have considered running a jumper off the battery to the transfer case to see if I get power @ the control module and then I'd know which wire I'm working on.
Sent an email yesterday asking for a wiring diagram and any other help they can give to 2 suppliers of the units off the internet. Hopefully they'll have something. 2 Ford dealers had not heard of the units. 1 looked and had no info in their data base.
