key code no longer available
Because I had a broken ignition lock replaced and because my original key for the door was kinda worn, I went to a nearby dealer to get the door key code and have a couple of new keys cut, based on the door code and the ignition code I have fotr the new key. But I was told that this information is no longer available, and my best bet would be to visit a locksmith....
Can anyone confirm that this is indeed the case? I have a '95 Bronco.
TIA

That is probably true. Ford changed key configurations near the tail end of the 90's and since rekeying and/or having a lock cylinder made to fit an existing key is a simple enough project for any decent locksmith, Ford has probably dropped the keycode info from their database. The new encoded (chipped) keys are probably the only thing they are dealing with anymore. This is pure speculation on my part but its seems logical enough that an 11-year-old key won't be a dealer item anymore.
