Another Transmission Question
<HR style="COLOR: #666666" SIZE=1>99 F250 SD 5.4 Automatic 4x4 Manual shift on the floor
Here's my question, the other day I was pulling my trailer with an 80's 2wd shortbed Chevy on it, and I came out of the constuction zone I was passing through, put the gas pedal to the floor, and NOTHING happened!!! The enginde did not gain any RPM's, made no unusual noise's, and gained speed slowly, like I had barely given it a throttle. I would have thought that it would have kicked down a gear, I was only doing 30 mph at that time, and had OD locked out.
I pulled off at the next exit and checked the fluid, was right at full, wasn't hot, and didn't smell burnt.
Can anybody tell me if this has happened to them before, and if this is a sign that worse things are to come????
This was the first time I have ever had any problems with the truck. It has 157,000 or so on it, and I bought it used.
Thanks

The downshifting is controlled by the computer unless you manuall move the shift lever.
I'd be looking at your throttle function.
