My power windows act funny in cooler weather. They go down slowly first thing in the morning. During the day when it is warmer they never give me trouble. Has anybody had this problem?
I am not sure if it is sign they are going to go out (bad).
One of mine was getting that way so when I had the door panel off I greased the track and sprayed some lube on the arm and mechanism. I havent had any problems with it since.
i have the same problem. its not that bad, but if i roll the 2 front windows down at the same time the passanger side window takes an exra second. also, if they are both down and i roll them up at the same time they both roll up at the same exact time. not sure what this means, but i might take empiretc's advice and grease the track.
Had the same problem with mine. Reseached this website, and found out how to fix. Spray some silicone spray on the window tracks. Do not have to take door panels off! Worked great for me. My driver window would stop halfway down, and after spraying with silicone, works better than new. So I did my other one too.

How did you not have to take the door panel off and still spray them?

Roll the window down and spray the tracks where the window would be when it is rolled up. Enough residue will be on the tracks and get on the edge of the window to carry it down into the door. Worked great for me. Use silicone spray.
I just went and took the door panels off. It is only two screws and I have had to take them off several times (speakers, door locks, etc.) I lubed the track and the gears where the motor turns. I tried them this morning and they work much better. I can't beleive I did not think of hitting them with some spray. The only bummer is I got some spray on the window tint and it had an adverse affect on the film.
Thanks for the idea!
depends on how old your truck is because there is a update from ford on this the dealer did mine under warranty I just sprayed teflon grease in the window tracks in and down the felt area where the window rides and works good I do it 2 times a year and no problems since good luck...
rcain, i forgot to warn you about that. even if you dont have tint, film from some of those sprays can be pretty hard to get off the window. glad it worked out for you. if you ever need to replace the motor though, they are not expensive. I picked up a set of 4 for $50 just in case.
i just bought a 2000 f250 it does all the things that you guys have talked about i got the dealer to fix the power locks and door speakers i will be spraying the window tracks is there any other things i shound be watching for ?
