You'll find that the folks on the 80-86 forum are always willing to help out.
FTE also has the "Electrical Systems & Wiring" forum. If your problem goes deeper than the obvious, they can help you step by step to pin down the real trouble.
There's 90 some odd forums here at FTE. Along with absolutely tons of info on trucks and all the other stuff that's discussed in the chatter forums, there is a topic to please everyone......somewhere.

Hey welcome aboard,
Feel free to come back and visit us here in Ontario. The 4.9L is a great lil motor. I don;t expect it would take much to bring it to life. Where are you located?
That's weird when I look up his profile all I get is "ON" for the state/province section and " Canada" for the country part. Do you have some moderator powers or is my view screwed up?
This is what I get when I look under Additional Information when I click his username and view profile:

Does it crank uniformly? Does the engine slow down when it's hitting the compression stroke like it should or does it seem to turn freely. If it turns too easily you could have low compression, check that too. Check that you're getting fuel, make sure you're acutally getting spark from the coil and from the distributor itself to the cylinders. Check the quality of your fuel and check your timing. This should give you a better indication of what's going on but I wouldn't suggest continuing to throw parts at it like you have been. Waste of money, waste of time, risky buisness. Hope this helps.
