Lights and Gauges

Someone enlighten me. Why did Ford put both idiot lights and pressure/generator lights in the dashes. I have both and have been asked several times and havent been able to provide an answer.

Lights and Gauges

LAST EDITED ON 22-Mar-01 AT 11:25 PM (EST)[p]seems I remember Ford used that in some of thier sales promotions. the Idea was to keep you out of trouble if a problem developed when you were not paying attention to the dashboard.suddenly it would be like Christmas.

The reason most 65' & 66' models have both, is because guages were an option for ammeter & oil pressure if you had no optional guages you still had idiot lights reguadless.

I found, after some research, that if you had the optional oil gauge, you also still had a oil light sender unit too. I added the original optional dash gauges to mine using exact original style harness and junction block, and they both work together just fine, different senders of course!
