Here's my question, the other day I was pulling my trailer with an 80's 2wd shortbed Chevy on it, and I came out of the constuction zone I was passing through, put the gas pedal to the floor, and NOTHING happened!!! I would have thought that it would have kicked down a gear, I was only doing 30 mph at that time, and had OD locked out.
I pulled off at the next exit and checked the fluid, was right at full, wasn't hot, and didn't smell burnt.
Can anybody tell me if this has happened to them before, and if this is a sign that worse things are to come????
This was the first time I have ever had any problems with the truck. It has 157,000 or so on it, and I bought it used.
You need to tell us more. And you might post it in the tranny section.
Did the engine rev up like it should but the truck didn't accelerate? Did it make any noises? Did it just slowly gain speed? What?
"Nothing happened" tells us nothing.

When I floored the gas, nothing happened, motor did not rev up, rpm's stayed the same, and very slowly gained speed. And it made no unusual noise's. Any other truck that I have had a loaded trailer behind, will kick down a gear at 30 mph. Was not sure if this was a know problem with this particular transmission or not.
Not sure if you should only be concerned with the tranny. If the engine did nothing too, then maybe the PCM was confused. Yes at about 30mph you might have been in second...or you might have still been in 1st.
Do you remember what RPM's you were at before "flooring the gas"?
