pull or not pull

is it necessary to pull valve train components to change intake manifold gaskets on a 1971 fe 360? i know the valve covers have to be pulled as the valve covers and gaskets overlap the intake, but do the rocker arm assemblies have to come off also?

Yes, it is because some of the pushrods go through the intake.
Even more, because that intake is so heavy, it will make it much easier to get off and back on if the valve train is off.

bp66 is right. But it's only 5 extra bolts each side and the pushrods. Just make sure the bolts stay in the rocker shaft assemblies. One of the bolts (at the oiling hole) is longer.
Now might be the time to upgrade to a much lighter aluminum intake and electric choke 4 barrel
