The rotating mass will increase, so your truck wont accellerate as quickly and it wont stop as well.

Will it not depend on the size of the tires as well as the wheels????
If you have a bigger wheel with a lower profile tire that equals the same height/diameter of tire, would the difference be noticable. I would think not, but will yeild to the more professional here.

Even if the overall tire diameter is the same, a 22 inch wheel weighs CONSIDERABLY more than the oem 17 or 18 inch wheels. It is the weight of the wheel that kills you, the engine will work harder to get them to start moving, and the brakes will work harder to get them to stop moving. Generally, 20 inches is a good size for these trucks, giving you good handling, and good looks, without sacrificing ride quality. Remember, if your overall tire diameter stays the same, you have less tire between you and the road, so the ride may be a little rougher

I can get you the valance if you want. They wont come from the factory painted though, youll have to get one paint to match. There are a few styles to choose from, depends if you have tow hooks or not, and the look youre going for.

As far as the wheels, i wouldnt go larger than 20s on my own truck. Though 22s are cool, there is just always a trade off. Try to keep the overall tire diameter the same as stock, it will save you some headaches down the road.

Since you have an 05, your choices are a little limited. You may still be able to nab an early lincoln valance that is PTM, but valances like the harley and FX2 and current Lincoln wont work because the 06 bumper is just a little bit different. With the cost involved in buying one that is paintable, you may be better off taking the one you have to a body shop, have it sanded and primed and painted.

as long as you keep the same overall outside diameter, your speedo or trans wont be affected. On my lowered 2wd, i went with a little larger diameter tire (32") to fill the wheel wells better. Overall diameter is pretty much based upon the individuals taste.

depends, do you want stock height, or a taller tire? Tirerack.com will let you put in your truck info, and then recommend tire sizes for larger wheels, that is probably your best bet.
