I would like to put on a turbo. The motor only has about 90,000 on rebuild so I think it can take it. My main question is can I use one from a truck? I am going to try to by used to save some money.
Also bushings on the swaybar link were gone when I got the truck. I got a link kit today. I think it has more parts than I need. Could some one tell me how they go or take a pic for me?
Thanks

I don't believe there are any kits for turbos in vans, clearance being why. Only way I can think of to get clearance to do it would be to rework the doghouse...
I Just Posted The Same Question. I Called A Salvage Yard And The Guy Told Me It Would Not Fit Because Of The Cowl Not The Dog House. But I Wanted To Confirm.
I know it can be done there are members here that have turbos on thier vans. I'm just not sure if it is a kit or what. I would think the cowl could be cut or some thing. I may just go with headers, but a turbo sure would be nice.
I Have A 89 E-350 14 Ft Box With 3ft Overhead 7.3. I Looked At A Banks Kit But I Don't Think It Will Fit. I Seen A Guy On Here With A Motor Home With A Turbo. What Gear Ratio Do You Have I'm Thinking Of Going To 3.55 But I Don't Know If It Has The Power To Pull It.
I have seen a van with a banks system on it. The guy reworked the hood and cowl area around it. From the outside it looks like they had a racing hood on it but it was all clearance for the turbo. The guy who owned it told me that he did all the work himself with a welder and a torch. I have a pic of it somewhere, if I can find it I will post it up for ya.
On of the systems I read about here was a Banks system. A guy who installs then said banks are better on vans. I'm just not sure if he had to rework some stuff or what.
Back in the day of the 6.9 there were van specific trurbo kits available, but trying to find one used now 20 years later will be hard. The diesel powered vans were hard enough to find when new, let alone a turbo'd one.
Not much help - but at least you know that at one time there were kits out there.
