65 F100 Torque values

Greetings all from RSA. I recently located a 65 f100 with i6 motor. What a beauty this truck is. The engine needs some attention. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can provide torque values on head bolts as well as conrod big ends. I think it is a 242 cu ins. motor

Marnus, welcome. Where is RSA? Just for future reference, you should have either a 240 or a 300. Might be more helpful when getting parts or info.

RSA - Republic of South Africa. 4X4 Heaven. Gateway to the rest of Africa with endless game safaris. You should come and visit us some time. At 8 Rand + to the Dollar you can have a lot of holiday for a little $!

It is a major problem for us to buy stuff from the USA. Particularly because our per capita income is much lower than in the US.

Thank you all for the prompt responses.

Marnus, this is right from the 66 Ford Service Specifications for Trucks book. The book shows 3 "steps" with no reference as to what the steps are for the cylinder head bolts: (All torque specs in "Foot-Pounds") Step one: 50-55,Step 2: 60-65, Step 3: 70-75. Connecting rod big ends? The main bearing cap bolts are 60-70. Connecting rod nuts are 40-45. Hope this is of help. All these specs are for the 240 or 300 6cyl.

Thanks 66ranger.

Does your manual give the valve clearances as well?
Another thing I am looking for is the bore/stroke for the 240 and 300 respectively.
