Starter won't engage
I searched, but couldn't find a similar case to mine. I've had problems with the starter sticking on after I start the truck, but it eventually shuts off. I wasn't sure if it was the solenoid or the starter. Now, the starter just free-wheels. It won't engage with the flywheel. I think it's the starter, but I wanted confirmation before buying one. What do you guys think (about the sticking on and the free-wheeling)?

You probably have two problems now. 99% chance it started with the starter relay [aka solenoid] sticking closed making the starter stay engaged. This is a fairly common problem with older ford trucks/ vans. If it happens enough times before you catch it the starter will wind up burning itself out or messing up the drive gear [which sounds like your problem as the starter still spins]. So.... replace the relay and the starter and problem should be solved. In older models the starter relay was mounted on the inner fender by the battery, not sure where it's located in a '93 but just follow the big + wire up from the starter and it will lead you right to the relay.
Will say to avoid rebuilt starters from Autozone, I went through 3 of them before finally buying a premium rebuilt from NAPA.
