C6 lost automatic shifting

I have a newly rebuilt C6 with about 2000 miles on it. It been running fine but yesterday it stopped shifting from second to third. I can shift manually, but when I have it in "D" it will let second gear reach 4000 rpms .... that is as far as I let it go. I checked the modulator and it has vacuum. Fluid is full and not burnt. The tranny runs fine once it gets to third and temp is normal. My guess is that the something is wrong with the valve body ...... Does that sound right??

Check the kd rod at the carb.
Quite often the small return spring breaks and the rod falls down.

I was thinking the same thing as stuart1 while reading your post. The KD rod was disconnected on my truck when I bought it, so I hooked it up and saw the same symptoms you're seeing. I disconnected it again and everything was fine. Been meaning to properly adjust it...
