Need new starter.....
My starter is finaly dead. No one good part inside!
There are 3 quations.
1. Is it possible to purchaise rebuilt starter in the USA and how much it costs.
2. Can someone help me to get it and to send it to Lugansk (via FedEx for example).
3. What Bosh starter fits aero? May be someone from EU knows it...
Thanks....

Yeah! Too much! I'll try to find another way for shipping. Just One example - shipping of Aero fron LA to Iliyichevsk (Odessa) was $1100 only! Not on deck, in 40' conteiner! + 1 small car!!!!! I'll try to ask my friends in Odessa.....!!!!! One new robbery of Putin! To cross the Russian border on truck is $5 for 1 trip ore $25 for 3 mounth! And what for? + inssuaranse!
So about the starter, I'll try to use Bosh. I dont know what Bosh starter fits aero, I'll try to learn. Price is about $200, but no shipping... I'll update about results...

USA Bosch part # is SR588, new or rebuilt
i can get you a rebuild kit $13 Kit includes instructions, drive, De & CE bushings, negative and positive brushes, snap ring, snap ring retainer, thrust washers,
http://www.partsamerica.com/
sounds like your rotor, commutator and maybe even field magnet are toast?
and ship via US Postal Service $20 or Global Express Mail for $35 plus whatever it costs to fill out customs forms
Cliff
No way in Hell am I going to pay to get into Russia but I sure as hell would pay to get out
Let's see $5 government charge plus $10 bribe to border customs official, that's $15
We had border officials here taking bribes to let vehicles cross the Mexican border loaded with dope drugs...wonder how much one could get in an Aero? $2 million$$$ of cocaine?
good luck on the starter

I've taken starter apart.... 2 coils in stator are bad.... I removed them... Now starter kranks the engine but slowly, but enought to fire it....
So list of other bad parts:
drive, bushings, brushes, thrust washers, rotor (toasted a bit) and stator....
I've visited Bosch dealer.... The have stater for 4.0 aero.... but they have no starter for 3.0 engine... But bosch starters are expencive - $180 for 4.0!
They asked me to wait till monday... Ok!

In friday I visited Bosch Dealer... They say, they have no starter for 3.0, for 4.0 only, but they say, it is possible to make a hybrid of MB starter and mine! Bosch makes starter drive, that fits aero... But they have no drive end of the starter, so they want me to get old MB starter somewere on a junkyard ($10), put the new DRIVE, ARMATURE, BRUSH SET, BUSHING, ROTOR, SOLENOID RELAY, so only one original part will stay on my aero, this part is DRIVE END! They want $70 only! Solenoid reley of Bosch starter is installed on starter, so, original relay will not be used... OK, i'll update in monday!
