battery charge light concern
Ok, so the last few days I have noticed my battery charge light comes on and goes back off. Here is what I am doing when it happens. It ONLY seems to happen when I absolutely floor the truck. As RPM's get to 5k or above, the battery charge light comes on, once it shifts and the rpm's drop, it goes away. I experimented with this earlier this evening when it was raining, so I know it only does it when I floor it and the rpm's go to 5k or above. I have a 1998 F150 4x4 with the 4.6L motor. My battery is an Optima and I purchased it roughly a year ago. Anyone have any ideas on what is up with the odd battery charge light doing this? The truck seems fine when it is on, nothing dims or any other problems that I can tell, it just comes on and goes back off.
