Tech question on 6.0l

say perhaps I had a faulty injector, or in other words an injector that is not working...would I know that such is not working by the performance of the engine alone? would I be able to feel such an obvious problem? or is there any credit to having such a test performed to verify that all injectors are working properly? I do not have any such problems at this time,.. but it was once mentioned to me that I can actually lose an injector and not even know it on this particular diesel engine... and/or would such a problem set a trouble code as well? and be as technical as you can, thanks!!

Usually, you would feel a roughness or decrease in performance, but sometimes it's not as noticeable if the injector hasn't completely failed.

It's as simple as pluggin in an NGS 2K and checking the injectors function, so if you're worried about it, most competent diesel shops can do this.

I'd agree with whoever said that you might have a bad injector and couldn't notice it if it were a 7.3, but a 6.0 will run noticably rough and sometimes fall flat on it's face if it had a bad injector, especially when it's cold. Don't expect the CEL to come on though,
