I have a 2000X 7.3 with 90,000 miles. When I first start the truck in the morning (not cold as it is 90 degrees in Dallas) the engine runs rough and the power is down a little. After a few starts it smooths out and the power is back. Any Ideas as to what might be the problem. Sounds like fuel (clogged filter or injectors) but why would it work better after I have run through the gears a few times?
Well 65 reads and no response. Well I fixed the problem and you won't even guess what it was. Not the injectors or the filter. The Turbo is fine and so is the Cam Position Sensor. Have any guesses?
No guesses here, but I am quite curious as to what the problem was. Mine idles a little rough at first, but my SCT takes care of the what could've been a low power condition. Now kind sir, share with us the solution to your problem....
Well, this is my wifes truck, and see should have taken the truck in to change the oil two times ago. Since we always do it every 3 months or 3,000 miles I don't even look at the oil level. Well it was just low enough to not feed the HVOP a constant flow to power the injectors when cold. So put what oil I had and off the oil change place for a quick change. Started it up this morning and it runs like it always had. Well I sure hope that see did not hurt it too bad. So far the the fix cost me a overdue oil change, much aggravation and I hope that she did not fry the engine.
