Good news, I recently got some bonus money --> about $2000 I'm looking into doing some more mods to my truck. THis PMS is bad stuff. Anyway, I was looking for some suggestions as to what to get. I've got 2001 f-250 PSD w/ DP tuner (40hp tow, 80 hp econ, 120 hp race), gauges (boost, pyro, and trans), 6637 filter mod, 4 inch exhaust and BTS valve body on the way. What would be next? Turbo, fuel pumps?
so, you are saying that you have $2000 more to spend?
i would start with your fuel system. you can keep your stock filter on the engine, or you can eliminate the filter bowl and put a fine filter (higher flow, though) on the framerail, and eliminate the bowl on the engine all together like i and some other members have done. to start off, eliminate all quick-disconnects from the fuel tank to pump. the Hutch mod eliminates the mixing chamber in the tank, allowing fuel to go straight in the tube and not have a chance to mix with any air. then, run new 3/8" line from the tank to the pump. i would recommend getting a lift pump to make the "main" pump work less and not have to pull fuel from the tank. i have a Carter 4070 pump and its on the LOUD side but works well. then i added a Dahl 150 filter/H2O seperator to replace the fuel filter on the engine. i ran new 3/8" (30R9) line from the filter to the pump and then from the pump to the engine where i used a Y-Block to split the flow into a Diesel Innovations Regulated Return kit. from the regulator i customized the outlet back to the framerail mounted return line back to the tank. other than maybe adding a Aeromotive pump, i should be set with the fuel system for a while
