Here in a week or 2, I'll start rebuilding the brakes on my truck; starting with the MC. right now, I have the fruit jar variety, with the screw on top, and only one port. What dual port MC's will work to replace this one?
On a 4x drum system, should I run the bigger port to the front or rear, and do I need a proportioning valve?
Thanks!

Is there a difference between pushrods for a '64 MC and a '67 MC?

Andrew,
Let me know how it works out. I am almost done with replacing the entire brake system on my 65 F-250. Unfortunately I got the advice to go with a different MC after I bought the new one I have in there now.
Food for thought: I was going to swap in a 71 MC into my 66, it would bolt right in, but the pushrod that connects to the stock pedal was too long. The 71 pedal would swap right in to the 66, but it was not the same angle, and of course the pushrod would still be too long. But this pedal would have had a stoplite switch that would work. Maybe a firewall spacer could be fabricated for this, or the rod could be professionally shortened. Porportioning valve from the pre-67 should not be used when going dual-get the P.valve from the truck the MC came from.. Good Luck!
Guys.
This has been discussed at length and the threads are still around, but here is the scoop. Ford has at least 3 different lengths of brake push rods. You can get them at the local junk yard and they have an eccentric bolt that allows extra adjustments. You just have to find one that works. My '63 uses the middle length one <see below>.
The Mustang big block dual cylinder (1967-1970) with out power brakes works really well. It not only bolts up directly to the firewall, but the brake lines come out on the drivers side and don't interfere with the motor setups. They are available and cheap.
You really need a proportioning valve, and Wilwood makes a good cheap unit that works really well.
The front port on the master cylinder goes to the rear brakes (where the proportioning valve goes) and the rear port goes to the front brakes.
Yes, you have to double flare the tubing.
Good luck.
