need code # conversions
I checked my codes using my dash engine check light and received the following flashes. I'll list them in the order of flashes and time between.
1(2sec)1(4sec)1(2sec)1 (6sec) 1 (6sec) 111 (2sec) 111 (4sec) 111 (2sec) 111
I'm not sure on how to decode the flashes and I would appreciate help!

Two code 11, which is an all clear, then a separator flash, and code 33 flashed twice in the memory, which is EGR related. I believe 33 means the computer isn't sensing that the EGR valve has closed.
The code format will be continuous monitor codes first, however many there may be, which cycle through twice, then a single separator pulse, then the memory codes, which also cycle through twice. If you had more codes than the 11 and the 33, those additional codes would also be repeated. For example if there was a 32 and a 52, the 32 would flash, then the 52, then the 32, then finally the 52 once again. Hopefully that didn't just confuse you.

The EGR valve itself may not be the problem. That's the tricky part to OBD-I codes is that several different things may set the same code. I suggest testing the sensor and the EGR system to narrow down the problem, but if the EGR valve is noticably rusty, maybe it wouldn't hurt to just replace it anyway.
