Help with old Dana 70
I am learning more about the Dana 70 than I wanted to know... I just want to swap my current 4.88's for a set of 4.10's.
My axle is stamped 5 21 0 46 603201 3. Does anyone know which ring & pinion part numbers (4.10 ratio) will fit?
Among other little surprises, the Dana 70 changed from a 1/2 to a 5/8 offset pinion sometime around 1974 and they do not interchange even with different carriers. To further complicate things there is also a 31/32 offset in Dodge trucks since the mid 1990's.
Also, I have a set of 3.73 (ring gear 34837, pinion 34836). Does anyone know if these fit my housing? I'm probably going to sell them anyway because they're too tall for heavy hauling/towing.
