hello all from a new member, i am in the process of getting my 69 f100/6 cyl back on the road. it's been sitting for 8 yrs, i drove it for 20 yrs before setting it aside for new ford p/u, it's like meeting an old friend. discovered brakes no longer operational on first test drive after getting engine running, fairly attention getting but no damage done. is the front brake drum easily removable from the hub or is the usual method to remove drum/hub as an assembly as i did? can anybody give me some leads for good sources for exterior/interior trim pieces, plastic lens, heater control cables, choke cable. thanks, larry
John, Thanks for the information, I had thought about doing so earlier but elected to just redo the stock brakes for now and put disc conversion on my "to do" for down the road. I have already got all my parts and am in process of putting things back together. The disc conversion appears a lot simpler than I thought it would be. Do you have any comment on the drum removal question, my curiosityis killing me, wondering if I overlooked something obvious when trying to get drum off of the hub. Thanks, Larry
I think you are on the right track, and if not someone will be along before much longer to set it straight. It was 5-6 years back when I got my truck, and I did no front brake work that many or more years prior. I disremember.
I did buy a donor truck upgraded my truck sold parts that I didn't use and my upgrade didn't cost me money.
