CCV Mod Modification
Hey guys I am wanting to built a canister similar to guzzles for the CCV tube but use the canister as a "p-trap" for the oil and on the other side vent gasses to the atmosphere and am planning on using a check vavle for this. The valve I am looking at has a 2psi cracking pressure and I am wondering if this is low enuff not to cause back pressure in the CCV system.
Anybody happen to know what the line pressure is in the CCV system?

Nope.
The only time that flow in the road draft tubing could conceivably flow in reverse would be while the engine (and crankcase gasses) were cooling after shutting down. That amount would be miniscule, at best, and if a longer piece of CCV hose were used (like to the rear wheels), it would be a complete "no-factor".

I guess what I am trying to do is purely preventitive to keep a "dirt-dober" from building a nest in the tube and clogging it. If they will build a nest in my grill they will build it anywhere

Other than an insect plugging the tube I would like to keep the oil out of the exhaust kinda like this with the check valve in the line to the exhaust (if Needed) elimianting the backpressure on the CCV sysyem

WHat you need is a vacuum on the ccv. I have installed these (below) on 3 diesels and numerous gassers with great results. BTW: with the check valve you can place this anywhere in the exhaust system. The check valve stops exhaust pressure from flowing into the crankcase.

It's a hi-perf trick for gassers but works very well on any turbo motor. IF enough vacuum is appied to the crank case there will be an increase in performance. I saw 20hp on my prostreeter.

Cuda that is exactly what i am wanting to do, but I want to incorporate a way to "trap" the oil before it gets to the exhaust and periodically drain it from a reservoir
