I had a 3-spd. overdrive tranny from a 56 car given to me and I plan to put in my 64.
My question is about the mounting of the overdrive cancel cable. Does anyone know if it mounted under the dash, or in one of the holes to the side of the steering coumn? If anyone has one I'd like to hear from you. I would like to make my installation look as original as possible, but I've never seen one myself and I can't find a pic to show where it mounts.
Thanks
Nate

The overdrive cable on my 59 was mounted on the left of the column under the dash. I've seen two other trucks with O\Ds the cable was in the same spot 4-6 inches left of the column.
About the under-dash cable mounting- I'm assuming it just used one of those generic brackets with the standard black and white ****? and no bezel? I was thinking it might look neat mounted on the right side of the column in the blank hole usually used for the throttle cable, but then I would have to find a bezel for it. I doubt that ford made an "overdrive" bezel that would fit though. It wouldn't look original, but it sure would be nice.
