Rear Diff Swap
Hay guys new to this site nice to see so much interst and help with fords, I think I need some my self. First I have a 92 ford f 150 5.0 4X4 with 355 rear end gears I just bought this truck and thought I had u joint problems but turns out to be the rear diff housing bent and bearings warn bad, in canada 3500 dollers but I found a used one for a song with same ratio. My question is how hard is it to do a complete swap of reardiffs. also I an wondering if my hubs are manual or auto and can they be changed. thanks for any tricks and info.

Swapping the rear axle is easy. Disconnect the brake lines, unbolt the u-bolts, disconnect the driveshaft, and put it back together. An afternoon's work, easy.
The front hubs can be changed to manual. You may need a kit depending on which style of auto hubs you have. If you do a search, you will tons of info. It's a popular topic.
