1996 E4OD Reverse problem
Hello all, I have a problem that has developed. I own a 1996 F250 heavy duty with a 460 and E4OD Trans. I bought the truck used from a friend who had a complete tranny rebuild at about 100,000 miles. At 120,000 I had prblems with starting in high gear. The same company that did the rebuild diagnosed and replaced the Solenoid Body. At 122,500 (12 months later) I have a reverse engagement problem. The company that worked on the Tranny said to check fuses. That was done and no problems found. I have a cooler, temp gauge, and am running synthetic oil. I use the truck to plow in the winter and pull a landscape trailer in the summer with two riders on it. It has not been over heated. About a month ago it began shuddering in reverse. Oil level good, not burnt, not been hot, no leaks, no electrical connection problems that I can find. I have been using low range to back up. I just need some ideas or suggestions, has any one else had similar problems? and if so what were the final results?
