I like the work, alot. It seems like he HAS to finish it now, with so many people watching, at whatever cost. I used to drive one in the military, and fwiw, they had a GM A-arm suspension with cv joints front and rear, a 6.2 diesel, and a parking brake rotor on the rear driveshaft. But these are just details, and, unfortunately, no ford parts. But I hope he finishes it nonetheless.
I Dont Know How He Will Register It, But I Work With Metal, And Enjoy It But Dont Know If I Could That.
Just Putting A Ford Emblem Should Make Us Proud.
Wow! I immediately sent that link ahead to a bunch of friends. Thanks John.
That guy's accomplishment is incredible, especially since he learned to weld while doing it.
There are some talented folks out there. Wish I was one of them...
Registration is an interesting point. I suppose the F-150 frame is the largest percentage of the project that used to be a registered vehicle, but it would be a stretch to claim that thing is a "modified" F-150.
Thanks for the link John - that is unbelieveably nice. Probably better than anything that came off the hummer assembly plant line in South Bend/Mishawaka. The guy has talent in spades.
Something just occurred to me...That guy obviously has an incredible amount of talent, but...He's spending untold amounts of money, doing a massive amount of work, for what? A vehicle that looks like a Hummer, but still rides and handles like an F150; why? Not that riding and handling like an F150 is a bad thing, but it's not a Hummer. If you're going to make a Hummer body, why not make the frame too? Anyway, the guy's talent is undeniable, incredible work.
From the details of the subframes and dash, I have to believe he has access to original plans, or a real Hummer. Look at the dash, you'll see what I mean.
