Volant w/ ram air tube

I've been researching CAI and I think I want to get a Volant. (don't bother with the arguments that my factory sytem is good enough, my mind is made up) I've been reading about them on here only to find out that there seems to be a clearance issue with the ram air tube that they sell with this kit. Sounds like when you turn the wheel as sharp as you can the the tire rubs....I don't want to spend $400 on this unit if I have a tire rub. I have to turn my truck as tight as I can every day on my way home from work....might get to be a problem after a while. What have you guys found??????

I havent used the ram air tube myself, but even without, the volant is one of the best intakes on the market. If the ram air tube is going to be an issue, i just wouldnt get the tube.

Sorry though, I dont have an answer to your question

Well that brings another good point of whether or not the tube is even worth it. I've read where its a pain in the a$$ to install them too.

I think it would be worth it, to bring some fresh cool air up there. At least if you use the volant intake, you have the option to upgrade to the tube any time.

i had the complete kit on o4 and didn't notice any rubbing. i took the system off and put it on the shelf. it was too much noise for me for everyday driving and i didn't notice any difference in anything. and if there is any,it's way up in the rpm's where i don't usually drive.i've got one to sell though!

Thumbs up Volant System Install

I installed the Volant cold-air system on my '05KR 5.4l truck.
It's a nice unit, well made. I did not install the ram air option. I draw plenty of air from the fender well. I wish the fender well seal was of a better quality.
I commute 23 miles 1-way @ 70 mph. It really moans when I punch it.
Highway milage APPARENTLY increased 2-3 mpg.
