Okay fellow Alaskans, riddle me this..........what brand/type/weight of oil do you use and where do you get it. I'm trying to find Shell Rotella T Synthetic in 5w30 but can't find it. But I'd also just like to get a feel for what everyone is running and get the best oil out there for performance and reliability. Also all the oils I seem to see on the shelves read "for gasoline engines. Where is the best place to get diesel oils. I'd like to run synthetic..... am I missing something or have I just been dropped on my head one too many times. Thanks for the help...Chris
WEEELLLL it does depend on the wifes mood... Oh I mean you are having trouble finding that oil for me in Wal Mart Chris. Dont worry about it I will search for a case my next trip over. I still have 3500 before the next oil change. Wally world is like that sometimes they have it and sometimes they dont. I always buy a case when they have it just because of what we saw the last time we were in there.
I run Delo 400 Sythetic 5W-40. I buy it from a bulk fuel and oil distributor here in Fairbanks. Look in the yellow pages under fuel distributors and give them a call. Most of them sell all the oil products also. Call a couple because they all sell different brands.

PS. What was wrong with your truck????
I looked at both Wally Worlds in Anchorage and in Eagle River. Also hit Napa's, Shucks too. Only saw one case of Shell Rotella T Syn and it was 5w40.
The WW in Eagle River has several cases of MOTORCRAFT oil, but they obviously don't want to sell it as it is sitting on the top shelf and the slots for it on the rack are empty......go figure.
I'm just about ready to leave here Mike.....with any luck I'll see you about 8 tonight.....I gotta buy some groceries, fill the truck up and I'll be on my way. Have to stop at Pinnacle Mtn RV Park and say hello to an old friend. I'll call you when I get to Glennallen. See ya tonight!!!
Oh yea, I'll tell you about the problem with the truck or you can read about it at the 6.0 Forum...it should be up near the top of the forum
