I have a 66 F100 with manual brakes and a single master cylinder. I intend to replace it with power brakes and a dual master cylinder. Will I require a proportioning valve (is that the right term?) with the new setup? Do I have one now and just not realize it? How do you adjust the valve to get the correct front and rear pressure?
You don't need to bother researching a proportioning valve, it is only used when you put disc brakes on the front and have the drums in the rear. Drum brakes all around don't need the valve to 'distribute' the line pressure. It is a terrific idea to go to the dual bowl master cylinder; the power booster will make the stops alot easier.
