I wanted to share this invaluable garge tool with you guys. I stole this thing from my wife. It's made by Reebok for that step exersize workout. I was always standing on all kinds of things to work in the engine bay of my trucks. I started using this Reebok step and can't imagine working on my p/u without it.
What's nice is it's height is adjustable, it's non-skid top and bottom. It has a nice big platform to stand on and makes working under the hood a lot more pleasurable. It's not veary heavy and stores easily in the garage.
I use it to do just about everything under the hood now. Things like changing spark plugs, working on the carb, etc... I'm 6' tall and my truck is just a stock height 4x2, this thing has saved my ribs and back from a lot of pain. Seriously, this thing is invaluable if you own a p/u truck.
Good idea, thanks for sharring. That might be better and more stable than a milk crate I use now.....
You're very welcome.
Exactly, it's very stable. You can lean all over the place and it doesn't tip over or scoot around. I've used all kinds of stuff to stand on, this thing is great.
I'll have to ask the wife where she bought it. Probably like Wal-Mart or Target I'd guess.
While its a great idea for the stock 2wd and maybe even stock 1/2 ton 4x4s, I currently have to use a 2' step ladder to get at my oil filter, I'm 6' tall, and my 94 F-150 is only lifted 4"!!! Does Rebok make a step for me?
lol.
We bought a lil red step stool for the kids that we keep next to the bathroom sink, kinda looks like that Rebok deal. I think its made by Rubbermaid. Slip resistant feet, and rubber pad on top. If the Rebok thing is out of your budget, look for one at Wal-Mart.
There is a stool, I think it's made by Cosco, that has spring loaded wheels that retract when you step up on it. It's metal and has rubber around the bottom so it won't slip. It is about fourteen inches tall.
