Welcome to the site. The door tag is the easiest way to tell, but if you can't read it, then there should be a metal tag on the bolts to the rear differential, and it should read somthing like this
3 50 4H84045J9
Which means 3.50 gears and the other numbers are build dates and locations.

If all else fails and you can't find a tag, jack the rear end up with the truck in neutral, and turn the tire exactly 1 full rotation, keeping count the number of times the driveshaft turns. Example: driveshaft turns 3 full turns, probably 3:08, 3.5 turns, probably 3:55, 4 full turns, probably 4:10 ect......
