Towing my 37ft. 5ver I noticed that the temp gauge was almost in the red. I was going up a hill, boost gauge was between 30 and 35 psi. When I reach my desination I noticed that the coolant level was down. Added coolant and the return trip was no problem. Could this be a thermostat problem or something else. The truck is an 06 F350 King Ranch CC Dually 6.0 FX4. Thanks Rick
You ought to be running max about 28 psi. Anything more, the clock is ticking. Some people have no trouble with modifying their trucks, but some do. In my opinion, its a tradeoff, modify, or no problems.

Is it a new truck? When I picked up mine the overflow hose was left off the bottle and the bottle was a gallon down. Glad I checked it out once I got it to the house and found that. Sounds like your deal as well?
Put the tune back to stock and still have 29 to 30 psi. at WOT. Pushes antifreeze when on a long hill. I'm calling my dealer tomorrow to see what they say. Can anyone tell me what could be wrong. Thanks.
Just had the same problem with mine. Dealer pressure-tested the system, did a complete flush/refill, replaced the degas bottle cap, and installed a new calibration. The truck runs better, gets about a 1MPG improvement, and, so far (fingers crossed), hasn't puked any more coolant. I think I was lucky... or that the problem simply hasn't recurred yet. I'm also not chipped/tuned.
28-30psi according to the stock gauge (which isn't all that accurate) is typical.
Also, do you have the adjustment sticker for the level? Ford made some adjustments, at least for my 05... the cold fill max should be just a hair underneath the cold fill min stamped into the bottle.
It could be a bad EGR cooler, bad degas bottle cap (not holding pressure), failed head gasket/warped head, or a number of other things. Unfortunately, since you were tuned, you may have warranty issues. Running 35psi thanks to a tuner, at WOT, up a long hill is a problem waiting to happen, I'm afraid.
I called the dealer (service dept.) and they said to fill the bottle at operating temp to below the min level. I also disconnected the battery to reset the computer. My question is can the service tech tell that I had a tuner installed.
Do you have any tuner stickers on your windows? Don't leave the tuner in the truck. Think just a little bit... many people have been busted with tuners because they did something stupid like this.
If you've flashed the computer back to stock and pulled the battery clamps, you should be in fine shape. They may see a P1000, the adaptive relearn code... you can always tell them that you've heard resetting the computer can fix problems, so you gave that a try, thus the code.
