Any probs with this???
Oh yeah... the truck has about 40,000 miles on it.Ray
My opinion is based on what other people have said, and is this: It seems like a hit-or-miss gamble. Some people were plagued with expensive problems, while other have had no problems at all. I've read posts from several people who say they go through an engine every 70K miles, and the next guy says he has 200K on his, runs like a ford should. The problems seem to be even more widespread during the first couple years of the newer body style production years.
That being said, I wouldn't buy it. I searched for a couple weeks until I found a pristine '90 F-150. It has the well-proven 300-6 engine, 5 speed transmission, AC that blows ice cold, working cruise control, and the body is in immaculate condition. Yes, it has 100k miles on it, but I expect it to run for another 100k. Ask yourself what you're buying with that extra $13000.
Just food for thought...

Some of the early 4.6L engines developed oil consumption due to worn valve seals. I have a 93 Lincoln with that problem. Expensive to have fixed, over $600 in my area. Some people complain about the shifting of the automatic and that is why so many after market chips are sold. Myself I prefer a '94 or earlier truck with the 5.0 V8. It's tried and true with over 35 years of development behind it.
