I purchased a 2.5" leveling kit for my 05 f-150 subercab 4x4. The one that fits between the strut and upper strut mount. I took it to a local shop that specializes in 4x4 trucks. The guy told me that he doesnt recomend the spacers because they mess up the goemetry and are hard on alot of the componets. He recomended a true 3" lift instead, is he right or just trying to sell up?
I had my 2" lift installed by a shop that specializes in 4x4 trucks...they recommended adding new alignment cams that would allow the front end to have more adjustment when alignment became necessary. I had them installed, everything worked out just fine.
Although a leveling kit does change a few things, I seriously doubt that something bad is gonna happen...
I put a 2" lift on my 2006 SC and it goes on top of the strut and I put it on my self took about 1 1/2 hours and it still has the factory ride but looks alot better.
Plus look at where the lift goes on TOP of the strut (not on top and bottom of the springs). The lift that goes on top of the strut does not change a thing as far as your front end. All it does is just like a body lift.
