mass air sensor , help

hi everyone! would a bigger mass air sensor increase performance in 5.4 3v ?

Not at all.

The sensor is merely a meanurement device to feed the PMC data on air flow into the manifold/combustion chambers. It has nothing to do with the air flow itself. That's a matter of intake filtering and exhaust.

Best way, IMHO, to guarantee improvement in the performance of a 5.4-3V? Tuner, like an Edge Evolution. $400 you'll spend on the truck.

thanks! just the bought the edge! going to the track tonight to test and tune. also have sct tuner i will be comparing it to!

Who did the tunes on your SCT? Id be curious to see the results.

CMOS is right about the mass air meter. On older models, the mass air meter was part of a housing. you used to be able to upgrade that housing to get better air flow, but on the new F150s, they use a slot in meter, that is not in a housing. If you get an aftermarket intake, most of the ones on the market will give a larger area around the meter anyway.
