Please look at the two pictures I added to my gallery. I have no idea what these things are. They are both made of plastic. I found the blue one laying on the steering box. The yellow one was found next to the jack under the back seat. I have an '06 F250 extended cab 5.4 liter 4x4 w/ auto transmission. The blue one worries me a little. As you can see it is much heavier than the other one. Thanks is advance for your help!
how long ago did you get your truck...could they be something the dealership dropped in there...ive never seen anything like that and i have the same truck as you...im sorry i couldnt be more help...take them to the dealership and ask them...good luck
I got my truck about a month and a half ago. Everything seems fine. I looked all over under the hood but couldn't seem to find where the blue one was. I think the yellow one had something to do with the jack. I found it the day I bought the truck. If I happen to go buy a dealer, I will ask them. Was hoping someone would save the trip!
If you bought the truck new, then most likely they are assembly aids used on the line, and are usually discarded after whatever part they are used with is installed.
Does the yellow one glow in the dark? It looks like it might be one of those inside trunk releases that you're supposed to be able to see if you get locked inside. Don't know what it would be doing in a pickup. Most likely it's like others have said, assembly aids that weren't returned to the recycle bin.
Yes I bought the truck new. Come to think of it, the yellow one does look like one of those things. I will have to see if it glows. I tended to think they were assembly aids as well but wanted to be sure of it.
MAYBE they are top secret release levers that when properly installed in the correct place you can remove the pins and SHAZAM!!! you turn into a top fuel dragster and can fly through the skys...its probably like an inspector gadget truck...i heard ford was doing something lke that!!
ok here is a reel theory...my g/fs dad claims that they look like a temporary fastner that the assembly plant used to temporary fasten something untill t is perminatley put in place...he worked at GM for 35 years...dam chevy people
The yellow one is a tab that releases the clock spring in the steering wheel that is taken off at the end of the line, right before it is driven off the line. Apparently, Steve dropped it in the truck, and didn't have time to retrieve it.
